Joel Stepanchick
North Schuylkill Wall of Fame — Inducted June 2020
Mr. Stepanchick is a 2001 graduate of North Schuylkill High School, where he was the valedictorian of his class. He earned a bachelor's degree in biology from College Misericordia where he was the valedictorian of his undergraduate class. He then obtained his master's degree in forensic science from Arcadia University where he graduated with honors at the top of his class. He has received several awards for his academic accomplishments.
He currently supervises a group of ten scientists who analyze crime scene evidence submitted by law enforcement for the purpose of body fluid and DNA analysis and bloodstain pattern analysis. He has earned the PA State Police Commissioner's Area Command Significant Achievement Award for his work on a missing person/homicide case. He has testified in court as an expert witness in several counties throughout the Commonwealth of PA and has provided numerous lectures to law enforcement, nurses, and lawyers regarding forensic science.
He is the son of Jim and Brenda Stepanchick of Ashland. He resides in Frackville with his wife Ann — a fellow 2001 North Schuylkill graduate — and his two children, Jonah and Sophia.
