Dr. Jeffery Yourshaw
North Schuylkill Wall of Fame — Inducted June 2021
Dr. Jeffrey Yourshaw is a 2003 graduate of North Schuylkill. He graduated from Penn State University where he received multiple scholarships and awards. He was nominated for Phi Beta Kappa Academic Honor Society as a Junior and graduated top of his class, summa cum laude, as Student Marshall of the Eberly College of Science in 2007. He then went on to medical school at Penn State College of Medicine, graduating in 2011. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and was chosen to be chief resident in 2014. He then completed a cardiology fellowship, an interventional cardiology fellowship, and a critical care medicine fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina.
He has presented numerous research publications at international conferences and contributed to multiple textbook chapters. He has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.
Dr. Yourshaw is currently working at the Medical University of South Carolina as an Assistant Professor of Interventional Cardiology and Critical Care Medicine. He has a passion for working with critically ill patients and works to integrate high-quality critical care medicine with advanced interventional cardiology practices in the newly emerging field of critical care cardiology.
Dr. Yourshaw attributes his success to his parents and many of the life lessons he learned from his teachers at North Schuylkill, in particular Mr. Judd, Mr. Chukoskie, Mr. Paul, and Mr. Radel.
