Heather Yarnitsky — Elementary School Counselor

Hello, Spartans! I’m Mrs. Yarnitsky, and I am excited to be the Elementary School Counselor at North Schuylkill Elementary!

I have 18 years of experience as an elementary school counselor and hold a Master of Science in School Counseling with a specialization in Elementary School Counseling from the University of Scranton. I earned my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Bloomsburg University. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work with students in grades K–6, helping them grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

As a school counselor, I believe every student deserves to feel safe, supported, heard, and valued. I work with students individually, in small groups, and through classroom guidance lessons to help them develop skills such as managing emotions, building friendships, solving problems, handling challenges, and making positive choices.

I also enjoy working closely with teachers, families, and other school professionals to make sure students have the support they need to be successful. My goal is to create a welcoming environment where students know they always have someone they can turn to.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, supporting my children’s activities, and being involved in our community. I’m excited to get to know our North Schuylkill Spartans and look forward to a great year together!
