Dr. Carolann Wolfgang is a remarkable graduate of the North Schuylkill High School Class of 1984, where she was awarded the Joint Yellow Rose Award for Cultural Interest and Ideals for Living. Embracing a mindset of living life to the fullest, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Honors Geology from the University of Pennsylvania, a certificate in Sustainable Business Management from UC Irvine, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Resource Management and Environmental Science from The Australian National University. An avid, highly skilled outdoors person, adventurer, and dual citizen of the US and Australia, Dr. Wolfgang has lived in the Caribbean, Germany, Puerto Rico, and the Netherlands, and has traveled to countries across Asia, Europe, and Africa. Currently residing in Alexandria, Virginia, she is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and an elite ultra-runner who has completed over 60 races, ranging from local 5Ks to a grueling 100-mile ultra-marathon in California, while maintaining multiple advanced personal training, sports nutrition, and triathlon coaching certifications.
Dr. Wolfgang's diverse, high-impact career spans roles across Fortune 500 companies, research institutes, global organizations, and small businesses. She has worn many professional hats, working as a hydrogeologist, workplace occupational safety and health manager, and project manager. For over ten years, she has lent her expertise to the Department of the Navy at the Pentagon, focusing heavily on strategic planning, risk management, data analysis, and performance improvement. In an extraordinary testament to her leadership and analytical capabilities, she was appointed by the Secretary of the Navy as the official Navy Lead for the National Commission on the Future of the Navy. She is highly credentialed as a Board Certified Safety Professional, a LEED Green Associate, and holds multiple elite certifications through the American Society of Quality.
As a published research scientist and elite team facilitator, Dr. Wolfgang is globally recognized for her ability to guide organizations through complex transformations and solve deeply entrenched problems. Her professional achievements include managing high-stakes water resource projects in the European Union that required navigating intricate cross-cultural and multi-language dynamics.
