+ 2007-2008 PSSA Student Results Mailed
Student Math, Reading and Writing results from the 2007-2008 PSSA exams were mailed the week of June 16-20. If you did not receive your results or if you need assistance interpreting the scores, contact the Office of Curriculum, Technology and Federal programs at 874-0466, extension 1173.
+ Afterschool Program Will Return in October 2008
The North Schuylkill School District after school enrichment program for 5th and 6th grade students will return the week of October 13-17 and run through November 20th. The program is being made possible through a 21st Century Community Learning Center federal grant. A spring 2009 program will also be offered.
The program offers homework help, math and reading tutoring and a variety of enrichment activities including art, music, field trips, movies, guest speakers, physical fitness and more! Transportation home is provided, as is a daily snack. Sign-ups for the six-week fall session will begin with the start of the 2008-2009 school year.

+ North Schuylkill Elementary Centers Receive Keystone Achievement Awards
The sustained academic progress of North Schuylkill's elementary centers were recognized with the awarding of Keystone Achievement awards issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. “These awards are testament to the tremendous efforts of the students, teachers and staff at each of these schools,” Education Secretary Gerald L. Zahorchak said. Zahorchak continued, "If there is one award that a school should proudly show off to visitors, it is the Keystone Achievement Award." For more information click here.
